One Week Away!

We’re officially one week away from stepping foot on Icelandic soil! Here is future me skateboarding in Iceland with my friend Walter:

Jess isn’t pictured because she beat us to the hot springs.

I’ve already packed, unpacked and re-packed my backpack half a dozen times. I walked around my neighborhood with one version of my fully packed bag the other day and was told I looked like a lost and confused Swedish person. I can draw a detailed layout of the local REI store from memory. I think that means I’m ready? I have a few more small details to work out, but if I had to jump on the plane tomorrow (a stress dream I’ve had several times) I think I’d be ok!

Jess has been in New Jersey for the last few weeks visiting friends and family, and we’re flying out of Newark, so I’m going up there a day early so we can have a day together to double check everything before we leave. Even though I’ve narrowed down most of the items, here’s the current state of things:

Maybe if I pile all the stuff on top of it, my bag will pack itself.
